MEET

Former star-athlete now, best-selling author and inspirational speaker, JayCee quickly became one of the top upcoming motivational speakers in the game. For over a decade, high schools, college student-leaders and athletes have all benefited from the raw, relatable, energetic and inspirational messages. With her message ranging from leadership, perseverance, character, teamwork and mental toughness, JayCee’s message is the motivational gut punch to life’s reality in words.

JayCee’s ability to have a versatile message has allowed her to share with countless brands. When called upon JayCee has been defined as a crowd controller and an inspirational provider. Some of JayCees past clients include Under Armour, Nationwide, NFL, Smithsonian, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., CIAA, NASA, McDonald’s, BET, DTLR, REVOLT and more.

JayCee earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management and Communications from Elizabeth City State University. The dream was always to make it to the WNBA, however, June 10, 2009 was the last year her name was attached to any roster. She tried three Universities, three different coaches only to never fulfill her dream of playing in college. Recruited, invited to preseason workouts, countless open gyms, endless workouts and weight lifting sessions, only to hear the words, “You’ll never be good enough to touch the floor” from a college coach she was once offered to play for.

Two suicide attempts, depression, anxiety, emotional eating, identity issues all over a decade span, JayCee uses the same feeling she had when running out the tunnel and gives it in her message. The strength to use her situation in order to build the world is JayCees desire when it comes to adding value to every person she encounters while sharing her message.

JayCee went from hosting college events, to being the Keynote speaker at National College Signing Day for former First Lady Michelle Obama in Baltimore, MD. She was awarded by CIROC as a Women Making Power Moves in 2018. In April 2021 she became a certified speaker under Dr. Eric Thomas (better known as ET The HipHop Preacher).

Today, JayCee is the podcast host of After The Season w/ JayCee Ruffin which is a spin-off of her Amazon Best-Seller book, “After The Season – The 8-step guide helping current and former athletes rebrand themselves post-career.”

JayCee uses her spare time to mentor and coach former athletes post-career. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
